～する pick; nip off; pluck (off [up]).

てきしゅ【敵手】

1 〔競争相手〕 an adversary; an opponent; an antagonist. [＝てき 2]

2 〔敵の手〕 enemy hands.

●高地を敵手に渡す have a strategic height captured (by the enemy); give up the defense of a height

・(陣地などが)敵手に落ちる fall into enemy hands.

好敵手 ⇒こうてきしゅ.
